A technique for recovering shape information from Reflectance Maps. Given an image and a reflectance map for a light source, the intensity at a particular image location constrains the surface orientation to lie on a contour in the reflectance map. If three images are taken with different light source positions the surface orientation must lie on a known contour in each of the three associated reflectance maps, so the intersection specifies the surface orientation.
