A technique whereby a list of name-value pairs is associated with an object (such as a node of a Semantic Net). Each name represents a certain attribute of the object and the corresponding value records the value of that attribute assigned to the object. Such a facility for associating property lists with atoms is provided as a primitive operation in Lisp type languages.
